Three local companies receive city's Beaverton 4 Business Award | Business
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
A trio of successful Beaverton-based companies -- Purlaytics, Bob Lanphere Enterprises, Inc. and Act-On Software, Inc. -- will receive Beaverton 4 Business awards from Mayor Denny Doyle, City Council and the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce at the Beaverton City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at City Hall (4755 SW Griffith Drive).
Launched in October of 2009, Beaverton 4 Business is a program conducted in partnership with the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce that publicly recognizes the significant achievements of businesses either headquartered or with operations in Beaverton.
"Dynamic businesses create a stronger regional economy, more jobs, support for our schools and a better quality of life in Beaverton," Doyle said. "We are proud to recognize the achievements of these businesses that continue to make Beaverton the best of Oregon."
January 2011 award winners:
Puralytics, an emerging leader in advanced water purification technology for light industrial applications, was named the winner of the 2010 CleanTech Open for its photochemical technology for water purification. The process removes contaminants, such as petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals, and also eliminates heavy metals such as arsenic, lead, and mercury. The recognition has placed Puralytics in position to attract significant investment funding and brand recognition at a critical point in its development.
Bob Lanphere Enterprises, Inc. is a second-generation, local, family-owned business that's grown to become one of Beaverton's largest employers and one of Oregon's most recognizable commercial and philanthropic names. They recently annexed several of their properties into Beaverton, and expanded their Honda and Infiniti auto dealerships.
Act-On Software, Inc. is a privately-held provider of integrated online marketing software that helps companies target their sales. An avid supporter of building business from a Beaverton location, Act-On Founder and CEO Raghu Raghavan turned down an offer by a California venture capital firm to move to California and still attracted $4 million in new venture capital backing. The company will use the funding to boost its marketing and development and has added new employees.
